As we are already in the second half of January, be sure to check your 202 property assessments that were mailed to you starting December 31, 2019 to ensure they are aligned with general market conditions prevailing last July (which is the date of valuation for 2020).
If you feel your assessment may be too high or too low, don’t hesitate to pick up the phone or email – we can discuss your options where the Assessment Authority is concerned, provide a market analysis as well as discuss the various pros and cons of appealing your assessed values to higher/lower values.
For instance, waterfront homes in the Uplands have seen their values decrease at BC Assessment by 5% for 2020, and non-waterfront homes in Uplands have decreased 7.9% for the same period.
