Greater Victoria started 2020 with a gusty bang as a winter wind and rain storm arrived on New Year’s Eve that had BBQ covers and trampolines blowing through our neighbors’ yards – and as this is being typed, we are under a subsequent winter storm warning for the next 48 hours. We love these winter storms; they bring the rain that helps keep this part of the province so green (and so clean!) throughout the year.
2019 sales ended with sales volumes up 7.2% for December (versus December 2018), with total annual sales for 2019 decreasing by 1.5% over 2018 sales.
The MLS® single family detached Home Price Index (HPI) average Benchmark Value decreased by 0.6% from December 2018 to December 2018 to $855,000 – the same value for Condominiums in 2019 was $520,700, and increase of 3.5% over the 2018 average benchmark of $503,000 (all values for the Victoria Core areas).
